Image: New Icon Battle of Books Team Earns State Honor Roll Recognition
College Park's State Battle of the Books team earned a place on the State Honor Roll for the Elementary Division. With a score of 300 out of 360 points, the four fourth graders placed twentieth out of 163 fourth and fifth grade teams in this state-wide competition.

Image: New Icon Partnering Up for Health
Seventh grade students from Greendale Middle School are helping their fourth grade buddies research healthy recipes. The fourth graders have been working on a year-long service learning project, where they have been learning about eating healthy and exercising. In two weeks, they will start making and selling recipe cards. The money will be donated to a local charity.

High-Tech Math
Thanks to a grant from the Education Foundation of Greendale, Greendale Middle School eighth graders in Ms. Patterson and Ms. Smyczek's math classes now have access to 26 iPads. In just two weeks, the students have already used the iPads in centers to practice concepts through electronic textbook resources, to watch videos demonstrating how to solve particular kinds of math problems and for research for Webquests that connect the concepts they're studying to real-life applications. Greendale Middle School's Tune Out Program Featured on Fox6 News
Since March 1, seventh graders at Greendale Middle School have been participating in the Tune Out Program. Students unplug from television, video games and the internet for as many consecutive days as possible to benefit a charity. This story was recently featured on Fox6 News.
