To promote literacy and a love of reading in the community, eighth graders at Greendale Middle School have started a new service-learning project. They will be creating three Little Free Libraries, which are attractive, outdoor wood cabinets that encourage the free exchange of books. The students are currently working on the construction of the boxes, which will be put up around Greendale this summer.

Bundled Up Buddies
With the official arrival of the first real snowfall, fifth graders at Highland View sprang into action to help their 4k buddies. Getting twenty or so four year olds ready to play in the snow is no small feat. The fifth graders created posters to help the 4k students remember the order in which they must put on their winter gear. After a bit of practice with their big buddies, they were zipped up and ready to go.
