Students Receive Civic Music Association Awards
The Greendale School District announced that Andrew Crapitto of College Park School and Michael O’Keefe of Highland View School have been awarded scholarships by the Civic Music Association of Milwaukee (CMA) for private music study. Crapitto and O’Keefe were among 15 young musicians in the area selected to study privately for their first time during the 2010-11 school year. As part of the Civic Music Association’s Annual Music Competition Weekend, students performed in a live audition before a panel of three judges. Participants were also involved in a workshop on Audition & Recital Preparation presented by Catherine McGinn, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Bassist & clinician, as part of the weekend’s events.
The Civic Music Association, founded in 1918, focuses on youth in its mission to provide music education and performance opportunities in the greater Milwaukee area.
