Peter Pekar

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Peter Pekar skydiving and thus fulfilling his bucket-list goal of jumping out of an airplane. Peter was chosen as this week’s Senior of the Week due to his dedication, ethic of hard work, and friendly demeanor that makes him one of the beloved seniors in the class. As Senior of the Week, Peter describes the joys of being able to spend two years with each of his sisters throughout high school. Although he wishes he had joined more clubs earlier on in high school, he is happy that he was able to participate in football and he has enjoyed the relationships that he was able to build through that experience. After this year, Peter plans on attending a four-year university and getting a bachelor’s degree in either Business or Food Science. Finally, Peter cites his dad as an influential figure in his life and as a person that he hopes to model his life after. If you see Peter around this week, be sure to give him a high-five and an “atta-boy” for being this week’s Senior of the Week. Thank you, Peter, for all you have done for GHS.
Mr. Pekar always has a positive attitude and the desire to work hard to achieve. Those two traits alone will be the keys to his future success. – Ms. Guida
Peter is a pleasure to have in class. He is a great role model and doesn't hesitate to help out other students in class. Peter's initiative and interest in his goals is evidenced not only by the courses he has taken, but also by the participation in groups, projects and extra-curricular activities. Whether he is in a leadership role, or performing as a member of a team, he always endeavors to do well. Peter has done an excellent job of balancing involvement in clubs, sports and activities while maintaining a strong focus on his academics. – Ms. Albrecht
I really enjoyed having Peter in class. His positive energy and contributions livened up our class. He has matured into a fantastic individual and I wish him the best in his future pursuits! – Ms. Schulteis
Peter has been a leader among his peers well before his time at Greendale High School. He possesses the ability to effectively communicate with personalities of differing types. While many individuals may recognize actions that need to be taken, Peter is often the person that suggests and implements such measures. Greendale High School, and our football team, are better off because of these attributes. – Coach Stoltz
He has come a long way from the days when I had him in Frosh football...True definition of "student athlete." He leads by example. I would be surprised if he ends up anywhere outside of Iowa next year. – Mr. Muench
