Sports Scores: February 7

Bowling
The Boys Varsity Bowling team continues to amaze as they bowled another set of incredible games during their victorious matches against Whitnall on February 2 and St. Francis on February 4. They began their last game on February 2 with a pocket 7-10 split, then went on to bowl 11 straight strikes, another GHS record, for a 278 game. On February 4, the boys bowled games of 244, 248 and 248. Finishing the regular season with 19 wins and one loss, the Boys varsity bowling team earned the best record in District 1, which is the entire Southeast Wisconsin area. Congratulations to bowler Kevin St. Martin for qualifying for the Individual State Tournament in Appleton. Kevin placed tenth of all bowlers in District 1, which covers all of Southeastern Wisconsin.

Boys Basketball
On January 31, the Freshman Boys Basketball team lost 37-62 against Wauwatosa West and the JV team won 62-50. Varsity Boy's Basketball defeated Tosa West 66-56 to improve their conference record to 6-6. Shawn Markham, Matt Habeck and Alex Noggle were all in double figures and Jacob Sisler added 9 on three, 3-pointers. The Freshmen Boys Basketball team lost to Saint Thomas More on February 3. The JV team won 63-50 and Varsity lost 44-55.

Boys Swim
With only 14 swimmers and three divers on the team, GHS Boys Swim pulled off an incredible first place finish at the Woodland Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. It was a two-team race from the start that ended up with Greendale/Greenfield scoring 453 points and Shorewood scoring 452.5. New Berlin was a distant third with 376 in the nine-team event. Will Kivlin and Liam Duffy started the meet out on the right foot with a gold and silver medal finish in the diving event. Jake Howard also scored six very important points in the same event with an eleventh place effort. Andrew Staszak added additional gold in the 200 free and Shawn Lucchesi finished fourth in the same event. Zach Hogan was the swimmer of the meet with fourth place finishes in both the 100 butterfly and the 100 back. Jeff Jacobs also had incredible scoring swims in both the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke.

Cheer
Congratulations to the Varsity Cheer team for their first place finish at the Brookfield Blast competition this past weekend. The team performed a solid routine and earned the highest score of the day. It was a positive step forward in preparing for Nationals.

Chess
The chess team defeated South Milwaukee on January 31 by a score of 30 to 10. Winners were Aaron Hopefl at Table 5, Zach Giemza at Table 4, Harrison Vey at Table 3 and Mark Fuller at Table 2.

Girls Basketball
On January 31 at Wauwatosa West the Freshman Girls Basketball team lost 25-35, JV lost and varsity lost 41-47. Against Saint Thomas More on February 3, the Freshman Girls Basketball team lost 23-26, JV won 53-30 and Varsity won 45-25.

Hockey
The Ice Force Hockey team had a rough night at the hands of the Arrowhead Warhawks on February 2. Varsity lost 9-1 and JV lost 8-3. Greendale's Matt Edwards had 14 saves in the JV game.

On February 4 against Grafton/Port Washington, Ice Force Varsity Hockey beat Grafton 10-6. The JV lost 6-4. Four different players scored for the JV team. Greendale's Matt Edwards made 43 saves.

Wrestling
On February 1, Greendale High School Wrestling put together a great team effort to beat Greenfield 40-34. Winning by pin were Jake Rosen, Andy Rohde and Bobby Hintz. Also winning were Jared Rosen, Tommy Welch, Henry Felerski and Sam Walton. On February 2, the Wrestling team capped off the regular season with an exciting victory over New Berlin by a score of 39-31. Needing a win in the last match, Tommy Welch came away with a big pin to seal it. Also winning their matches were Jared Rosen, Henry Felerski, Saad Fleifel, Sam Walton, JP Carvalho, Dustin Donald and Jake Rosen. With the win, the young Panther squad, under the guidance of first year Head Coach Bob La Plante, won back-to-back Woodland Conference duals meets for the first time in over a decade. At the Woodland Conference Meet on February 4, the team tied for seventh place.


Sports Scores: January 30

Bowling
Boys Varsity Bowling was victorious against Whitnall on January 26 and St. Francis on January 28. Finishing the regular season with 19 wins and one loss. The GHS Boys Varsity Bowling team earned the best record in District 1, which is the entire Southeast Wisconsin area.

Boys Basketball
On January 27, Boys JV Basketball came back from 15 down to beat Whitnall in overtime 67-62. Leading the way in scoring were Josh Ringelberg with 21, Josh Michaels with 15, Braxton Joehnk with 11 and Nick Dalton with 10. The victory improves their conference record to 8-3. Boys Varsity Basketball lost 66-61 in overtime to ninth ranked Whitnall. Jordan Perez led the Panthers with 15 points and Alex Noggle, Shawn Markham, and Matt Habeck were all in double figures.

Boys Swim
The Boys Swim team finished their dual meet season undefeated by beating New Berlin 101-85 on January 24. Will Kivlin and Liam Duffy went first and second in the diving event, Andrew Staszak captured top honors in the 500 free and Shawn Lucchesi contributed a pair of second place finishes in the 200 and 500 free. Zach Hogan was swimmer of the meet with a lifetime best effort in both the 100 fly and 100 back. The final challenge for the team will be trying to capture the Woodland Conference Championship on February 4 at the Greenfield pool.

Girls Basketball
On January 24, Girls Varsity Basketball lost 40-52 to Waterford. The JV team lost and Freshman lost 20-37. Girls Varsity beat Whitnall 54-50 on January 27. The JV team also won, but the Freshmen lost 17-26.

Hockey
The Varsity Ice Force Hockey team lost their Senior Night game 7-5 on January 27 to the Kenosha Thunder. On January 28, the Ice Force lost to the Fox City Stars 11-3. The JV lost 6-2 to the Thunder and 7-5 to the Stars. Greendale's Joe Unrine and Brian Kennedy each had two goals, while Philip Miron added a single goal. Greendale's Matt Edwards made 46 saves in the two games.


Sports Scores: January 25

Bowling
Boys Varsity Bowling won the District 1 Red Conference for the third consecutive year, qualifying them for the State Tournament in Appleton. Shutting out Wisconsin Career Academy and Pulaski 7-0, the team average stands at 193 with a record of 14-1. This is the most successful bowling team in GHS history. Senior Kevin St. Martin is on pace to fill a top seat in the Boys Individual State Tournament.

Boys Basketball
On January 20, the Boys Varsity Basketball team won against South Milwaukee 49-40. The Boys JV Basketball team handed South Milwaukee their second loss of the season by a score of 57-47. Tyler Peterson and Nick Dalton both had 14 points, Josh Ringelberg had 12 and Brad Guendel added seven. The boys improved their conference record to 7-3 and 10-4 overall. The Freshman team won 49-45.

Boys Swim
The Boys Swim team placed third in the Bradford Invite in Kenosha, where the scoring system heavily favored larger teams. Divers Liam Duffy, Wil Kivlin and Jake Howard all scored in the meet by placing fifth, sixth, and fifteenth. Andrew Staszak and Shaun Lucchesi both medaled in the 200 and 500 free, and senior Zach Hogan finished sixth in the 100 backstroke. Jeff Jacobs and Sam Keltner had top 20 finishes in the 100 fly and 100 breaststroke events.

Girls Basketball
On January 20, the Girls Varsity Basketball team lost to South Milwaukee 35-55. The JV team won and the Freshman team won 30-29.

Hockey
The Ice Force Hockey team lost 11-4 to the Waukesha Wings on January 20. On January 21, they lost to Waupun 11-4. The JV Ice Force team lost 7-1 on January 20. Greendale's Matt Edwards made 28 saves. The thrilling game of the weekend came when the JV Ice Force came from two goals down in the final minute to beat Waupun 6-5 with five seconds remaining in the game. Six different players scored in a total team effort, including Greendale's Philip Miron. Edwards had 29 saves in the victory.

Wrestling
The Greendale Wrestling team traveled to Lake Mills for their annual dual tournament and placed fourth, beating Lake Mills and Palmyra Eagle. Tommy Welch medaled, going 4-1. All with a 3-2 record, Nic Cameranesi, Dustin Donald and Bobby Hintz also had strong performances. The JV team was also on the road at Racine Park where Manfred Lopez-Prado placed second at his weight class.


Sports Scores: January 17

Bowling
After their first loss of the season, the Boys Varsity Bowling Team got back to winning on January 14 against Franklin and Thomas More. After a rough start their first match, the boys came from behind to win the match five games to four with Kyle Senft bowling 18 of 18 filled frames. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the boys bowled a new GHS record high game with a score of 280 against Thomas More during their second match. Bryan Bremer and Kevin St. Martin both filled 14 of 14 frames. State Tournament here they come!

Boys Basketball
On January 10 at Eisenhower, the Varsity Boys Basketball team lost 49-50, JV lost 47-63 and Freshman lost.

However, the Varsity Boys Basketball defeated rival Greenfield 55-42 on January 13. Alex Noggle led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points and Jordan Perez added 13 points. All of the Greendale Panthers scored in the game. JV also defeated Greenfield 79-56, using a balanced scoring attack to gain the victory. Leading the way on the offensive end were Nick Dalton with 18, Tyler Peterson and Josh Michaels with 14 each and Jack Ringelberg with 12. The win improved the JV conference record to 6-3. The Freshman lost 39-58.

Boys Swimming
The Boys Swim team kept its undefeated dual meet streak alive on January 11, but unfortunately, so did Shorewood. Both teams battled to a 91-91 tie setting up the final battle for bragging rights within the Conference to be determined at the Conference Championships on February 4. Wil Kivlin, Liam Duffy and Jake Howard swept the top three spots in diving with Wil setting a new school record for six dives in the process with 209 points. Andrew Staszak and Shaun Lucchesi also helped, as they won both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay.

Chess
The Chess team lost a close match on January 10 to Dominican High School, 20.5 to 19.5. Winners included Joey Unrein at table 7, Sam Lee at table 6, Mike Gableman at table 5 and Harrison Vey, winning at the number one table.

Girls Basketball
On January 10, the Girls Varsity Basketball team lost to Eisenhower 36-78. JV lost 48-53 in overtime and Freshman lost 16-51.

Varsity Girls Basketball won 38-34 on January 13 to Greenfield. JV lost and Freshman lost 43-54 in overtime.

Hockey
The Ice Force JV Hockey team traveled to Manitowoc on January 14 and defeated the Manitowoc United JV team 10-1. Greendale's Joe Unrein had two goals and Philip Miron added another. Greendale goalie Matt Edwards had 19 saves in the victory.

Wrestling
On January 11, the Wrestling team lost to South Milwaukee.

The Greendale wrestling team placed seventh this past weekend in the Racine Case Eagle Invitational on January 14. Taking first in his weight class was Jared Rosen. Tommy Welch and Sam Walton took third. Henry Felerski, Evan Chitko and Jake Feinas placed fourth and Chris Phillips placed fifth.




Sports Scores: January 10

Bowling
On January 5, the Greendale High School Varsity Boys Bowling team celebrated the New Year with a dominating victory against Pulaski to increase their record to 8-0. The team won seven out of seven games with a 207 average. Bryan Bremer filled 100% of his frames while Max Kellerman and Kevin St. Martin filled 90% of theirs.

The team achieved a new Greendale High School bowling record on January 7 by starting their season with 10 straight wins. Kevin St. Martin filled 100% of his frames in the victory against Veritas. The team also bowled a season high 274 game and Max Kellerman filled 100% of his frames as they won against Greenfield.

Boys Basketball
Varsity Boys Basketball lost to Whitnall 40-60 on January 3. The JV Basketball team picked up the intensity on defense and erased a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to come away with a 64-59 victory over visiting Whitnall. Leading the way on the offensive end were Nick Dalton with 19 and Josh Michaels with 17. The conference record improved to 5-2. The freshman lost to Whitnall 34-40

On January 6, Varsity lost to Slinger 41-47. The Boys JV Basketball team defeated Slinger at home 56-54. Leading the way on the offensive end were Nick Dalton with 22, Josh Michaels with 17 and Josh Ringelberg with 11. The boys improved their overall record to 8-3 that night.

Boys Swimming
The Boys Swimming team continues to make waves in Wisconsin as they finished seventh out of 19 teams at the Marquette Invite on January 7. This meet features some of the strongest talent in D-1, D-2 and private schools from both Wisconsin and Illinois. Will Kivlin finished seventh in the diving event and Liam Duffy placed ninth in the same event. Freshman diver Jake Howard also scored in the top 16 with a sixteenth place finish in his first 11-dive meet. Andrew Staszak and Shaun Lucchesi both finished in the top 12 in the 200 free and Staszak also captured a seventh place medal in the 500 free. Zach Hogan and Jeff Jacobs were the swimmers of the meet for their efforts in the 100 butterfly.

Chess
On January 5, the Chess team lost to the five time defending champs, University Schools by a score of 6 to 34.

Girls Basketball
Varsity Girls Basketball lost to Whitnall 33-52 on January 3. JV won against Whitnall 45-28 and the freshman lost to Whitnall 16-30.

Hockey
The Ice Force Varsity Hockey team lost to the Brookfield Stars 8-2 on January 6. Joe Unrein scored a goal. The JV team lost 4-2. Joe Unrein also scored in that game.

On January 7, the Ice Force Varsity team lost to Oshkosh 14-1, while the Ice Force JV team beat the Oshkosh JV team 6-1.

Wrestling
The Greendale High School Wrestling team lost to Pewaukee 2-71 on January 4 and on January 7, they competed in the Verona Invitational Tournament.


Sports Scores: December 19

Boy’s Basketball
On December 13, the varsity boy’s basketball team dropped a tough game at Brown Deer 66-63. Brown Deer jumped out to a 9-2 lead early in the first quarter, but the Panthers battled back twice to get within one possession twice after trailing by 14 points in the second half. Jordan Perez led Greendale in scoring with 23 points and Alex Noggle finished with 21 points. JV bounced back from an 11-point deficit in the first half to defeat Brown Deer 68-64. The Panthers were led by Nick Dalton with 29 points and Josh Michaels with 20 points. The win improves their conference record to 3-1.

The varsity boy's basketball team defeated Cudahy 59-48 on December 16. Jordan Perez led all scorers with 19 points. Alex Noggle and Shawn Markham added 13 points each in the victory. Cameron Rowe had a solid defensive effort and led the Panthers with five steals. JV shot an impressive 62% from the floor as they rolled to a 105-64 victory over Cudahy. Josh Michaels led the balanced scoring attack with 23 points. Nick Dalton added 18, Josh Ringelberg had 16, Jack Ringelberg added 11, Braxton Joehnk had nine and Brandon Cook and Mindaugas Sriubas both had eight. The boys improved their conference record to 4-1.

Boy’s Bowling
The Greendale High School varsity boy’s bowling team remained undefeated with a 5-0 record after December 15's victory over Whitnall. The team won six of seven games with a 202 average. Kevin St. Martin and Logan Zastrow successfully filled 13 of 14 frames.

On December 17, varsity boy’s bowling team continued on its winning ways with a 7-0 record after matches against Wisconsin Career Academy and Thomas More. The team won six of seven games in both matches. Bryan Bremer successfully filled 13 of 14 frames in each of the two matches and Max Kellerman successfully filled 13 of 14 frames in the second match. Rock and Roll Panthers!

Boy’s Swimming
The boy’s swim team continued their undefeated ways and crushed the squad from Brown Deer by a score of 116-20 on December 14. Shawn Lucchesi finished first in both the 50 free and 100 butterfly, while teammates Zach Hogan and Andrew Staszak won the 100 back and 500 free respectively. Jeff Jacobs joined with Hogan, Lucchesi and Staszak to also sweep all three relay events. Swimmer of the meet for the Panthers was sophomore Shawn Lucchesi. Congratulations swimmers!

The boy’s swim team captured runner-up honors at an 11 team invite on December 17, finishing second in the Elkhorn Invitational. Shaun Lucchesi won the 100 free and came in fourth in the 200, Andrew Staszak finished third in the 200 and second in the 500 free and Zach Hogan medaled in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 back. Jeff Jacobs rounded out the scoring for the Panthers in the 100 breaststroke placing 16th.

Chess
On December 15, the chess team lost to a talented Milwaukee School of the Languages team. The team did win at two of the five varsity tables. Winning at table five was Jordan Kaddatz and winning at table two was Mark Fuller.

Girl’s Basketball
The varsity girl’s basketball team defeated Brown Deer 51-41 on December 13. The JV girl’s team also won with a 55-21 victory over Brown Deer. The freshman team defeated the St. Thomas More freshman team 36-14.

On December 16, the varsity girl's basketball team lost at Cudahy 19-64. The JV girl’s basketball team won at Cudahy 46-21.

Hockey
On December 14, the Ice Force varsity hockey team lost to WSN (Whitefish Bay/Shorewood/Nicolet) 11-3, while the JV Ice Force beat WSN 8-5. Greendale's Joe Unrein had the hat trick (3 goals in one game).

On December 16, varsity hockey lost to Catholic Memorial/Pius XI 4-6. The JV hockey team lost against Homestead 2-6.

The varsity team lost to the Bay Port Pirates 4-6, while The JV lost 3-6 to the Pirates JV on Saturday, December 17. Scoring for the Ice Force was Greendale's Joe Unrein. Greendale's Matt Edwards had 62 saves over the weekend including 11 in part of the varsity game.

Wrestling
The varsity wrestling team lost against the Cudahy/St. Francis team 33-42 on December 14.

Sports Scores: December 13

Basketball
The girl’s basketball team played St. Francis on December 6. Freshmen won, JV won and varsity won 40 – 29, improving to 2 - 0 in the Woodland Conference. On December 9, they played New Berlin West. Freshmen lost 20 - 45, JV lost and varsity lost 36 – 73.

On December 6, varsity boy’s basketball held St. Francis to 12 second half points, including only two in the fourth quarter, as they went on to a 49 - 32 victory. Alex Noggle and Jordan Perez led the Panthers in scoring with 17 and 15 points. Mason Johnson also chipped in nine points for Greendale. A strong defensive effort by Cameron Rowe, Shawn Markham, Jacob Sisler and Mitchell Brees helped wear down the Mariners in the second half. JV basketball also defeated St. Francis 80 - 39. Leading the way on the offensive end were Josh Michaels with 20, Nick Dalton with 14, Jack Ringelberg with 10 and Brenden Anklam with eight.

Boy’s basketball played New Berlin West on December 9. Freshmen lost 28 - 46, JV lost and varsity lost 34 – 58.

Wrestling
On December 7, the Greendale High School wrestling team lost 6 – 74 to Whitnall.

Out of five teams, the varsity wrestling team won the Kenosha Christian Life Tournament on December 10.
This is their first tournament win of the year. Taking first in their weight classes were Jake Rosen and Sam Walton, both going 5 - 0. Also, placing were Tommy Welch, Erik Martinson, Dustin Donald and Alex Rohde. JV traveled to West Allis Hale and did a great job. Nic Cameranesi took first in his weight class, Manfred Lopez Prado took second, John Paul Carvalho and Ahmad Abidalrahim took third and Brennan Mueller took fourth.

Swimming
On December 7, the boy’s swim team captured top honors by winning the Woodland Conference Relay Championships held at Cudahy High School. The team medaled in 10 of the 12 events and won three of the last four swimming relays to stage a come from behind victory defeating New Berlin 268 - 258 in the 10 team meet. Medaling for the Panthers were divers Wil Kivlin, Jake Howard and Liam Duffy, finishing first in diving, and swimmers Wil Kivlin, Zach Hogan, Andrew Staszak, Shaun Lucchesi, and Jeff Jacobs. Swimmer of the meet for the Panthers was Andrew Staszak. Congratulations Swimmers!

Bowling
The varsity boys bowling won a difficult match December 8 against a tough St. Francis team. After trading games and finding themselves down three games to four, the Panthers came back with games of 194 and 224 to take the match. Bryan Bremer and first year varsity bowler Logan Zastrow bowled a consistent match to solidify the win.

The varsity boys bowling team remains undefeated with a 4 - 0 record after December 10’s match against Oak Creek. Logan Zastrow remains on fire by successfully filling 15 of 16 frames. Then, after the finger grip in his ball dislodged, Kyle Senft came through with an amazing strike late in the match with his brother Kevin's ball. Keep on rolling Panthers!

Boys Basketball
11/29 @ Brookfield East: Freshmen lost 33-39, JV won 57-44 and Varsity lost 40-55.

12/2: Greendale Panthers Varsity Boy's Basketball Team won 63-62 in overtime last Friday to go to 1-0 in the Woodland Conference. After erasing a first quarter nine point deficit, Alex Noggle tied the game in the closing seconds on a great lob from Mason Johnson. In overtime, Jake Sisler hit a last second pull-up jumper to pull out the victory for the Panthers. Jordan Perez led the Panthers with 23 points, including four, three pointers, Alex Noggle scored 13 points with seven rebounds and Mason Johnson scored nine points with 13 rebounds and two blocks. Greendale plays at St. Francis on Tuesday night.

The Boys JV Basketball team defeated Shorewood 60-42 on Friday night to gain their first conference win. They used a balanced scoring attack led by Tyler Peterson with 18, Josh Michaels with 11, Josh Ringelberg with 10 and Nick Dalton with eight. The boys improved their overall record to 2-1.

Freshmen lost 41-52.

Girls Basketball
11/29: vs. Franklin: Freshmen lost 20-43, JV lost 34-52 and Varsity lost 29-57.
12/2: @ Shorewood: Freshmen won, JV won and Varsity won 37-34.

Hockey
12/3: Ice Force hockey team lost a thriller 5-3 in their home opener to Germantown on Saturday night at Wilson Park. Scoring for the home team were Greendale's Philip Miron and Franklin's Kyle Hoffmann and Brian Kennedy. Jared Hoffmann had 34 saves in goal. The next home game is this Saturday, December 10 at 6:00 p.m. at Wilson Park vs. Kettle Moraine. Come on down and "check out" your team.

Bowling
12/3: GHS varsity boys bowling team started off their season by winning their first two matches on Saturday. The first win came after a rough start against arch rival Greenfield. The team began by losing three of the first four games before turning things around with four straight wins to take the first match. Seniors Bryan Bremer and Kyle Senft filled 88% of their frames. The team also beat a very talented Germantown team in their second match. Consistent bowling by first year bowler Max Kellerman and senior Kevin Senft helped win the match. Kevin St. Martin led the team with 88% filled frames in the match.

Cheer
12/3-12/4: Congratulations to the Varsity Cheer Team on a great opening competition season. The team qualified for Nationals on Saturday. On Sunday, the Cheer Team won their division and were announced the Grand Champs at the Holiday Spirit Competition.

Boys Swim
11/30: The boys swim team kept their undefeated dual meet record in tact as they crushed the squad from Tosa West by a score of 113 to 72. Wil Kivlin and Liam Duffy went 1-2 in the diving event and teammate Shaun Lucchesi captured top honors in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. Andrew Staszak also won the 100 backstroke. Zach Hogan and Jeff Jacobs teamed up with Lucchesi to help the team also sweep all 3 relay events. Swimmer of the meet was diver Wil Kivlin.
