Welcome to the Sixth-Grade Southstar Team. The Southstar Team is committed to educating the whole child. We recognize that each child is unique, and are dedicated to meeting each child’s academic, social, and emotional development. We cultivate a safe environment that promotes opportunity and learning. By providing meaningful connections within the school, we prepare and encourage students to become responsible, contributing citizens of the greater community.

6th Grade Classroom Rules

1. Respect yourself, others, and your school.
2. Listen and follow directions.
3. Come to class prepared and on time.
4. Expect to learn.

Homework Policy

• Daily work and homework must be turned in on-time in order to receive full-credit.
• There will be a one-day extension per day of excused absence.
• A maximum of two (2) weeks will be allowed to turn in late/missing work, at the discretion of the teacher, in consideration of the assignment, the individual and the circumstances.
• To help promote handing schoolwork in on-time, a “C-” (77%) is the highest grade attainable for any late assignment.
• A zero will be recorded until any late work is completed and handed-in.
• Extra credit may be available for students in various subjects during the course of the academic quarter. Extra credit will not be given as a replacement for missed course work or be used to artificially inflate grades at the end of the quarter.
