Students are taught and advised by a group of 4 core academic teachers who compose two teams per grade level. These core teachers meet regularly to plan curriculum and discuss the needs and progress of the students. The middle school schedule is designed to support the team concept, which allows interdisciplinary planning, as well as constant and consistent communication about students assigned to a grade level team of approximately 105 students.

GMS is comprised of six teams, two per grade level along with several teachers delivering instruction in the Encore areas: Technology, Art, Technology Education, Health, Physical Education, Music, World Language.
