Good Afternoon College Park Families,
Thanks to all of the families who helped make our Valentine’s Day celebrations a success. Students focused on friendship and what it means to be a true friend. Third grade integrated their nutrition study into the party, with an attempt to focus on healthy snacks! It was a great day of celebrating special people in our lives.
We have scheduled conference dates on March 8 and 9. Teachers have contacted families regarding meetings using Sign-up Genius, an on-line scheduling tool. We have also worked to hold conferences with families at appropriate times during the year when needs arise. Due to this, not all families will need to hold a conference during the scheduled times. If you have not had a chance to discuss your child’s progress with his/her teacher or scheduled a conference time, please contact the teacher directly.
Dinner forms were sent home with students last Friday. To ensure your family gets their dinner selections, it is important to return the choice forms by February 24. If you have misplaced your original, you may click here for a form.

The Greendale Schools Nourish - Mind, Body and Environment Expo will take place on Saturday, March 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Greendale High School. This family friendly event will feature vendors, resource booths, exhibits, demonstrations and other activities related to living a healthy and environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. The keynote speaker will be author and registered nurse Dr. John D. Shier RN, Ph.D. For more information, please click here.

Greendale High School Theatre announces its 2012 Spring Musical, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” The audience will be transported to provincial France where innocent Belle gives up her freedom to save her father from the Beast. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince enthralled Broadway and will now come to life at Greendale High School March 9-17.
Performances will be Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students 18 and under and $10 for adults. Tickets for the Sunday Matinee are all $7.
Tickets will go on sale beginning Sunday, February 19 and will be available primarily online through www.seatyourself.biz/ghstheatre. Tickets may also be purchased in person on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the auditorium lobby (main entrance to the high school), after school from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The eleventh annual Empty Bowls fundraiser will be held at Greendale High School on Saturday, March 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For a donation of $10, guests will enjoy a meal of homemade soup and fresh bread served in a handmade ceramic bowl, which may be taken home as a reminder of hunger in the community. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. Tickets are available at the main office of each school and the Greendale Park & Recreation office.
