About the Community
The Village of Greendale is located in the southwest suburban area of metropolitan Milwaukee. Greendale's location gives residents access to all the activities of a major metropolitan area while living in a caring and neighborly village.
Greendale is a planned Greenbelt Garden Community, one of only three in the nation, patterned in the late 1930s after the British "garden city" concept. The village of about 14,000 people still reflects a rural setting in an urban area and primarily consists of single family residences. Greendale is known for its hospitality, scenic landscape, quality homes and good schools.
The Greendale School District is comprised of Greendale High School, Greendale Middle School and 3 elementary schools (Canterbury, College Park, and Highland View.) The Time 4 Learning Charter School within the Greendale School District is designed to provide an exemplary early education program with a strong emphasis on early language development and school readiness skills for 4-year-old children in the Village of Greendale. The T4L program is offered at two locations, Canterbury and Highland View.
Area amenities include the Boerner Botanical Gardens, Todd Wehr Nature Center, historic Trimborn Farm, bicycle trails, a major regional shopping mall, a public library, and churches of various denominations.
