Schutte Resigns from Greendale Board of Education

Jim Schutte, long-time member of the Greendale Board of Education resigned his position effective April 2, 2012. He cited a change in residency to outside of the Village of Greendale and wanting to spend more time with his family as reasons for his resignation.

“I think the Greendale Schools is in excellent hands,” Schutte said. “The Board that is in place and the administration is doing a fantastic job. I hope the public understands what it really takes to run a successful public school system like the one we have in Greendale. We are lucky to have such incredible, talented people who do an excellent job of preparing our children for the future.”

Schutte was first elected in 2005 and re-elected 2008 and 2011. During his tenure on the Board, Schutte co-led two referendum efforts in the District and served as a community leader with many organizations including the Greendale Lions Club, Education Foundation of Greendale and the Greendale Park and Recreation Department.

“Jim Schutte has worked hard in every organization he has served as a leader,” said Superintendent William Hughes. “I know Greendale has been very fortunate to have Jim serving the electors and residents of our Village. I am also very glad that we can continue to count on Jim Schutte to take a leadership role in rebuilding the Education Foundation of Greendale into an organization with a wider community focus while still supporting Greendale Schools and our young people.”

The Greendale Board of Education has begun the search for his replacement. Applicants will be reviewed and interviewed by the School Board. The successful candidate will serve until the next election in 2013. Applicants may send letters of interest to the Superintendent’s office, 5900 S. 51st St., Greendale, WI 53129.
