The 5K Run/Walk begins at 10 a.m. at Greendale High School’s lower parking lot and follows a route through the Village. Participation is free but advance registration is requested.Register HERE.
For a $10 donation, participants will receive a free t-shirt. Click here to make a donation.
Donations will benefit SAVE – Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE.org), one of the nation's first organizations dedicated to the prevention of suicide and was a co-founding member of the National Council for Suicide Prevention. SAVE was selected by GHS students to receive run/walk proceeds.
11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. • Keynote Speaker
Location: GHS Library
Betty Holloway, MNS, RD, CD, owner of Nutriphoria LLC, will make the keynote address, on Food in the Fast Lane.Holloway’s presentation is geared to healthy eating for the fast-paced family and will offer tips and strategies for making better choices when eating out, healthy office eating, and helping children develop healthy eating habits.
Holloway is a Registered Dietitian whose work includes translating theoretical nutrition information into easy and healthful cuisine. As clinical dietitian, she specialized in the area of preventive cardiology and weight management. Additionally, she served as instructor of Nutrition and Fitness, a college-level course for health professionals.
11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. • Cafe 150
Location: MPR
Greendale High School Pro-Start Culinary Arts students are preparing and serving healthful lunches in “Café 150” with proceeds benefitting Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee. Lunches will be served on plates made by GHS art students.Menu items will be prepared using ingredients made or grown within 150 miles of Greendale. Make your reservation and meal selection here through our online system.

Demonstrations and interactive displays on gardening, water quality, and other topics will be featured throughout the day.
The Greendale Health Department will hold a bike helmet demonstration and giveaway of bike helmets while supplies last during the expo and an Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers physical therapist will offer injury screenings as part of the event.
