Greendale Schools is diligent in its spending practices and works hard to control operating expenses. As such, the total School District levy, which determines the school portion of local property taxes (mill rate), has dropped each year since the 2013-14 school year. The chart shows mill rates

- Assumes phased borrowings in 2019 and 2020 amortized over 20 years at planning interest rates of 4.00-4.50%.
- Estimated 2018 Equalized Valuation (TID-OUT) of $1,402,643,600 with annual growth of 1.00% for three years and 0.00% thereafter.
- Inclusive of impact on state aid at the tertiary level of 9.33% (18-19 July 1 estimate) on increment debt service.
- Impact represents the change in mill rate over the 2017-18 levy of $1.15 for debt service. The mill rate for debt service may remain flat or decline without the referendum passing.
