If you've been watching the weather, you see that at the moment it looks like it'll be a rough time this afternoon and evening.
As an outdoor event, focused on having a safe summer, we're obviously prioritizing participant safety, and that means we had to make the sad decision to cancel the event tonight. We're brainstorming ways to bring the event back some time this summer, and hope we'll still be able to showcase all the fun, safe, and enriching opportunities our community has to offer!
For those of you willing to brave the weather, a few kids activities will still be available in the community room downstairs in the Greendale Library between 3:00-7:00PM.

The Community Connections Arab American Heritage event was a beautiful showcase of the culture of the Arab world, with amazing drum and dance performances, music, food, Henna and Arabic calligraphy, crafts, health and wellness resources and so much fun! Many thanks to our guests and everyone who made the celebration special and memorable. We are grateful to the very generous vendors, performers and door prize sponsors. Shout out to these participants: The Greendale Health Department/ Community Alliance, PAGE, Banat Al-Huriyeh, Tabla/Arabic Drum- Peter Alnimri, Stylish Henna By Amina, Farouq Abukhamireh- Arabic Calligraphy. Each guest received a ticket for a door prize sponsored by these generous businesses: Qahwa House, Wellbees Pharmacy, Crystal Hair Salon, MyCare Home Care Services, Cinnabon in Greendale and Bayshore mall, Hot Bargain Depot, Prestige Accounting Services, Crave Cookies - Greendale, Jana Designs, and Rana's Beauty Room. Dinner items from Fatty Patty Food Truck. Boutique items available for sale. (Please bring cash for purchases.) Everyone who attends will receive a ticket to enter into a free drawing of gift items from our vendors and local Arab-American owned businesses.

March is designated as Youth Art Month and our Greendale Schools' student artists are showcasing the creativity, talent, and hard work that comes with creating works of art. The Greendale Public Library has a selected display of artwork from all of the Greendale schools. These works will be at the library through the month of March only. Please visit the art show and share this experience with your family.

Over twenty Greendale High students connected with local healthcare leaders at the Second Annual Hands-On Healthcare Careers Expo on February 3. Students learned about a variety of healthcare careers and made connections with local organizations that serve the community. The hands-on event, held at Greenfield High School and hosted by the Center for Healthcare Careers of Southeast Wisconsin, welcomed more than 1,000 students from across Southeast Wisconsin. It featured over 35 interactive experiences hosted by major healthcare partners, including Ascension, Advocate Aurora Health, Froedtert Health, and Children’s Wisconsin.
The students spoke with healthcare professionals, explored real-world demonstrations, and learned about education pathways and career opportunities across a wide range of health-related fields. This annual fair helps students to understand the vital role of these healthcare organizations in meeting workforce needs and supporting community well-being.

Our pastry chefs in the making were hard at work in the GHS foods lab recently. Students baked cakes in teams, prepared their buttercream frosting and decorated their cakes during multiple class periods. The results were Delicious!
