Announcing our New Superintendent, Kim Amidzich
At the meeting on Monday, March 23, the Board of Education approved the hiring of Mrs. Kim Amidzich as Superintendent of Greendale Schools. Mrs. Amidzich is the first woman to be appointed to the position in Greendale, and she has taken the lead during a period of uncertainty. At the Board meeting, Mrs. Amidzich announced her commitment to Greendale Schools in this statement. An announcement of her appointment was shared with families and the community in a letter from the Board president on March 13. Monday’s meeting was the reschedule of the March 16 meeting that was postponed due to social distancing guidelines from the state.
During the “Safer at Home” order period, the Board will continue to meet using Zoom meetings and all Board meetings continue to be broadcast live on the district’s YouTube channel. The Board is committed to continuing its practice of welcoming community comment during meetings. Instructions on how to do so will continue to be shared in Board agendas. The next Board meeting is Monday, April 6, at 7 p.m. The agenda will be posted on the district website in the afternoon on Friday, April 3.
Welcome from the Greendale Board of Education
Greendale’s rich tradition of academic excellence started when the “Greendale School” opened its doors in 1938. Today, over 70 years later, we are proud of our community’s commitment to its educational system.
The Board of Education consists of five community members and two student representatives. The community members are elected by the citizens of Greendale to oversee all aspects of the school district. Members serve for a term of three years. The student representatives, one senior and one junior, serve in an advisory capacity. The Board of Education meets on the first and third Monday of each month to discuss the business of the district and set policy. The meetings are open to the public. Board meeting agendas are posted on the school district’s website prior to each meeting as well as at the Public Library. We invite you to attend any of our meetings and welcome you to become a part of our school district.
Please feel free to contact any of the Board Members if you have questions or concerns. Board Member contact information is included on the website under Board Biographies.
