Over sixty students, staff, families, garden volunteers and community members celebrated the 14th growing season of the Greendale School Garden. This annual event is a collaboration between GHS Foods Classes and Music Department, the Greendale Health Department, and the School Garden Team and Volunteers.
GHS Foods classes toured the garden earlier the week of the event, harvested produce and then prepared appetizers for guests. Orchestra students provided festive Halloween-themed music to enhance the event. Greendale Health Department shared herbal mocktails, and information on the benefits of healthy eating! The health department is working with the garden team to collaborate on grant writing for more accessible walkways in the garden.
Thanks to the attendees and all of the supporters of the School Garden, from beautifying the garden in preparation of the event, to setting up and cleaning up and enjoying this amazing outdoor learning space. Read more about the garden here.
