Greendale High School Principal Steve Lodes received an Administrator of the Year award from Youth in Music. The presentation was made during the 2025 Youth in Music Marching Band Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the Greendale High School Marching Band competed against 34 bands from six states. Four school administrators from around the midwest were selected by the youth arts program to receive the award.
Youth In Music provides opportunities for students to perform and engage in experiences to enrich their lives through artistic expression. The organization believes that arts education is a critical part of a complete education and that communities thrive when supporters, volunteers, families and friends collaborate with students.
The Greendale Marching Band will represent the school district, Village of Greendale, Milwaukee County, and the State of Wisconsin in the 2026 Rose Parade on January 1, 2026 in Pasadena, California. The band has performed on the international stage previously in the 2020 Rose Parade, and the 2023 and 2016 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades.
