G-Harmony took 3rd place overall at their ICHSA Quarterfinal! Students had a ton of fun prepping and singing throughout the day while meeting other competing groups. They learned so much watching the other performances, and loved sharing their show. G-Harmony was also awarded Outstanding Soloist (Clara Svoboda) and Outstanding Arrangement (Holden Griffin) which was a huge honor. Special thank you to Kennedy Kapocius for your wonderful choreography, and congratulations to Ladies Knight and Limited Edition who will both be moving on to semifinals at the Pabst Theatre in March! Awesome job, Panthers!

A group of students attended the Northwestern Mutual/Milliman Actuary Science Seminar at the NM Headquarters in Downtown Milwaukee last week. The students learned about education necessary to become an actuary and received information on internships available for this career path. They spent time finding out about the typical "Day in the Life" of an Actuary, the Actuary Exams, and the Actuarial Career Path. They also explored a case study example and finished the day with a Q&A from two top executives from NM and Milliman. #LearnGrowEngageGreendale

Over twenty Greendale High students connected with local healthcare leaders at the Second Annual Hands-On Healthcare Careers Expo on February 3. Students learned about a variety of healthcare careers and made connections with local organizations that serve the community. The hands-on event, held at Greenfield High School and hosted by the Center for Healthcare Careers of Southeast Wisconsin, welcomed more than 1,000 students from across Southeast Wisconsin. It featured over 35 interactive experiences hosted by major healthcare partners, including Ascension, Advocate Aurora Health, Froedtert Health, and Children’s Wisconsin.

The students spoke with healthcare professionals, explored real-world demonstrations, and learned about education pathways and career opportunities across a wide range of health-related fields. This annual fair helps students to understand the vital role of these healthcare organizations in meeting workforce needs and supporting community well-being.

GHS Educators Rising is collecting Personal Hygiene and Toiletry items for people in need in our community ,now through February 9, 2026. Donations will be delivered to local community organizations, including Greendale's own Caring Closet to help families in need. Full- and travel-side items are needed, including: Soap & Body Wash, Deodorant, Feminine Hygiene products, Lip Balm, Lotion, Shampoo, Toothbrushes and Toothpaste.

GHS Econ students participated in Reality Check Day as part of their learning on personal finance. Our partners from Educators Credit Union presented the exercise. Students were assigned a career, salary, and family status. Each then visited various stations to learn about budgeting and how individual purchases (and unexpected life circumstances - FATE!) impact your personal 'bottom line'. The community celebrated the Greendale Marching Band's upcoming appearance at the Rose Parade with a special celebration on Saturday afternoon in the gym at GHS. The band performed the music from its fall field show, Snow Angel, and the selection it will perform on New Year's Day in the 5.5 mile parade in Pasadena, California. Standby for details and television broadcast information on the best way to see our students perform in the parade! Thanks so much to EVERYONE who brought coloring books to donate to Shriner's Hospital in California, and to our entire community for its outstanding support of the fine arts in Greendale. Our students are excited to share their Panther Spirit during the parade.

Join Sources of Strength in Dine-Out Fundraiser for Cure SMA.
The GHS Sources of Strength team is hosting a week of activities related to the strength of generosity at the high school. The main event for the week is on a dine-out fundraiser for the organization Cure SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). It will be held at Red Robin restaurant in Greenfield on Wednesday, December 17. Our pastry chefs in the making were hard at work in the GHS foods lab recently. Students baked cakes in teams, prepared their buttercream frosting and decorated their cakes during multiple class periods. The results were Delicious!

Twenty-five students from Ms. Wagner's Film class attended a session with guest speaker Bettina Lopez Mendoza, a screenplay writer and director based in LA. She worked on projects such as The Greatest Showman, Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir The Movie, and most recently her own short film Mas Alla, which is currently making its awards and Oscar short film circuit. She discussed the writing process, distribution of films in Hollywood, and director insights.
