Good Afternoon,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying a little blast of winter cold here in Wisconsin. A reminder to all that we will be walking to the high school tomorrow morning for an assembly. The first group will start their walk at 8:45 am, and we should all be in our seats by 9:15 am. We will be there until 10:15 am, and then take our return walk to the middle school. Please have your student dress for the weather! Many middle school students do not wear hats, gloves, and sometimes even coats during the winter months. On days like tomorrow, it will be important that they do.

We are giving many reminders to students that they should follow the expectations of the adults and walk safely to GHS. A firm reminder to all is to keep the snow on the ground and keep our hands to ourselves. Please remind your child of these expectations as well.

Thank you for your support in this!

We have our Cafe Zupas fundraiser tonight from 4:00-9:00 pm. Be sure to get to Cafe Zupas and tell them Greendale Middle School sent you. Thank you!

Seventh grade Team Integrity students talked about gratitude. They watched a video called "Kindness 101: a lesson in gratitude". Each student was then given 10 pennies to put in their left pocket and throughout the day as they reflected on things they are grateful for, transferred a penny to their other pocket until all 10 were transferred.

During Team Integrity's annual fall Clean & Green service-learning event, 14 Greendale senior citizens were helped with fall yard chores by 47 seventh grade Greendale Middle School students and six parents, who volunteered to drive students around the community. Those students that did not go to senior houses walked around the Greendale village, Dale Creek and wooded areas between GMS and Canterbury to pick up trash.

GMS students were fortunate to have a visit from Scottish author Struan Murray recently. The event was coordinated by Boswell Books. Mr. Murray shared a bit about his brand new book, "Dragonborn", his writing process, and even drew us our own GMS dragon! Students who preordered the book were able to have their copies signed by him. It was a great event celebrating literacy!

Sixth graders became scientists "out in the field" during the Life Science field trip this week. Students gathered both qualitative and quantitative observations using as many of their senses as possible. Then the students made inferences from these observations based on their experiences. It was a great blend of learning and fun for all.

Greendale High School's award-winning Theatre Department is thrilled to present the hilarious comedy, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG (High School Edition), Thursday, November 6, Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. each night.

This silly farce is still running on Broadway and has audiences rolling in the aisles. As a drama troupe prepares for their opening night of their murder mystery, they are almost (?) ready to perform and with a very hardworking cast and crew, they do their best to make it through their opening night performance. But, well, not everything goes to plan... so join GHS Theatre to see how it turns out!

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG is suitable for the entire family! Running time 1 hour 45 minutes including an intermission. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for all students and all tickets are general admission and available at the door.

The 2025 Reading Rampage, sponsored by the Greendale Public Library, was a great success last Saturday. Middle schoolers enjoyed a day of reading and relaxing with hourly prize drawings, snacks, and fun. Reading Rampage is an annual event that promotes literacy for students in grades 6-8. Many thanks to the library and its team for supporting our students and helping to build their love of reading!

On Friday evening, September 26, Greendale Middle School hosted our annual P.R.I.D.E (character education program that focuses on Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diligence & Empathy) kickoff tailgate party. The event took place on the east front lawn of the school. Lots of families turned out for a grilled picnic dinner and the chance to visit with other families. Afterwards, some members of the crowd walked over to Greendale High School to watch the Greendale Varsity Football Team defeat South Milwaukee in the Panthers' Homecoming Game.
