Child Development Days 2026-2027 Dates Set
Child Development Days screening is available to all Greendale resident children 3-4 years of age who are NOT enrolled in Greendale Schools' 4K Program. The event is held at Highland View, 5900 South 51st Street, and offers important screening of your child(ren)'s school readiness, including: speech and language development, reading readiness, social-emotional maturity, fine and gross motor skills and vision and hearing. Families also receive information on normal child growth and development and have access to developmental resources and informational handouts. Participants can share refreshments and receive a free gift for their children. Child Development Days are held on select dates by appointment only. Schedule an appointment by calling (414) 423-2713.

Back to School Check In/OLR will open on Wednesday, July 15. This annual review is REQUIRED of all Greendale Schools’ families. It is an opportunity to review and confirm or update student and family information.
Reviewing this information takes place in Infinite Campus and ensures the school has the most accurate information on student enrollment, correct address and contact information for families, emergency contact details, and health and demographic information for your children. This process must be completed BEFORE the first day of school, September 1, 2026. Student Fees are also due at that time.
Watch for an email message when the Infinite Campus portal is available for OLR. Families must have an Infinite Campus PARENT PORTAL account to complete this process. Please make sure you have an account and can access it. This is the same account you use to review your student(s) report cards. Thank you!
Greendale's Junior Panthers U8 Baseball Program is open to incoming 1st and 2nd graders! This is a great opportunity for young players to learn the game, build skills, and represent their hometown team. Tryouts for the team are coming soon, Wednesdays, July 15 and 22, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Highland View Field. As an outdoor event, focused on having a safe summer, we're obviously prioritizing participant safety, and that means we had to make the sad decision to cancel the event tonight. We're brainstorming ways to bring the event back some time this summer, and hope we'll still be able to showcase all the fun, safe, and enriching opportunities our community has to offer!
For those of you willing to brave the weather, a few kids activities will still be available in the community room downstairs in the Greendale Library between 3:00-7:00PM.

Our 4K students were excited to watch the stages of the butterfly life cycle right before their eyes! They observed live caterpillars grow, transform into chrysalises, and emerge as beautiful butterflies. What a fun way to bring science to life!
Highland View 4th graders visited Greendale's historic Trimborn Farm. While there, students learned about the quarry and limestone manufacturing and the dairy farm. They had fun learning about our local history and what life was like many years ago.
Our 5th graders have started their unit on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. To get to know the characters, students were asked to find a line in the play, and Freeze Frame it. They had a lot of fun acting out their lines and guessing characters! It is one of their favorite units and it is a great way to end the year! #LearnGrowEngageGreendale #CultivatingExcellence
Highland View grade 2–5 multilingual learners shared their creativity and dreams through a special writing and art project about the future. Students drew self-portraits wearing “future glasses” and wrote about what they hope to be when they grow up, along with fun goals and adventures they want to experience this summer. Through colorful artwork and personal writing, students practiced expressing ideas in English while sharing their unique interests, goals, and imaginations with pride.
On May 5, our three grade schools enjoyed unforgettable all-school field trips to Franklin Field! All our elementary students came together to spent a beautiful, sunny morning cheering on the Milwaukee Panthers for their annual School Day game. Before the first pitch, our students got to enjoy the interactive TMJ4 Weather Show, and once the game started, the energy in the stands was absolutely electric. The Panthers didn't disappoint, rallying to a thrilling 6-4 victory over Valparaiso! Our students represented Greendale Schools wonderfully with their great behavior and loud cheers. A huge thank you to all of our staff and the Milwaukee Panthers staff for making this massive logistics puzzle a safe, smooth, and incredibly fun day for everyone!
Get Ready for the 2026 GMS Musical, Disney's High School Musical!
GMS's Spring Musical is May 13 and 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the GHS Auditorium. Close to 70 cast and crew students are working hard to 'Getcha Head in the Game' to bring home the Wildcats Championship. Come join us.
All seats are General Admission and available at the door. Asking for $5 per person donation or $20 per family. NO advanced tickets. Show will run about 75 minutes and be fun for the whole family. Hope to see you there!
Highland View second graders celebrated and extended their learning about the US Civil War with a field trip to the Kenosha Civil War Museum. Students tried on Union Army uniforms, helped pack a soldier's knapsack to be ready for battle, learned how to march like a Union Soldier, and took a ride around downtown Kenosha on a streetcar.
The Community Connections Arab American Heritage event was a beautiful showcase of the culture of the Arab world, with amazing drum and dance performances, music, food, Henna and Arabic calligraphy, crafts, health and wellness resources and so much fun! Many thanks to our guests and everyone who made the celebration special and memorable. We are grateful to the very generous vendors, performers and door prize sponsors. Shout out to these participants: The Greendale Health Department/ Community Alliance, PAGE, Banat Al-Huriyeh, Tabla/Arabic Drum- Peter Alnimri, Stylish Henna By Amina, Farouq Abukhamireh- Arabic Calligraphy. Ms. Hauke’s first grade class is bringing learning to life by creating their own models of habitats. During our CKLA Knowledge Unit they discovered how animals adapt to their environments, what they need to survive, and how different habitats around the world support a wide variety of life.

Highland View students have loved engaging in winter activities that relate to music. Ms. R and Kindergarteners got to go "Ice Skating" to connect to songs with a Meter of 3. Students had fun singing, dancing, and learning! Many asked if they could take their "ice skates" home. This was a new way to learn what a waltz should feel like while doing a traditional winter activity.
Highland View choir students also attended Greendale School District's first Choir Festival! It was an exciting day for all. Students got to work with other directors from the district, meet students with their same voice parts, and engage in challenging yet fun singing activities. To top that, they got to watch every single other choir student perform! It was inspirational to see what they may someday do as a musician and choir student.

During March Madness, our K-5th grade students have been learning and practicing Basketball Skills of Ball Handling, Dribbling, Chest and Bounce Passes, and Defensive skills. Pictures show 3rd through 5th Grade playing a Basketball Shooting Game of "HORSE" and "Lightning".
The second grade students at Highland View are learning about the word 'cooperation.' They played some games that required a lot of cooperation. This activity involved moving in and out the middle carefully and at the right moments in order to identify, share, and discuss things they like or dislike. The students enjoyed learning a bit about each other and respectfully discussing others' interests.
The first week in March was a fun dress-up week at Highland View as we celebrated Read Across America week. Students enjoyed a book read-aloud in class each day as well. That Friday, we enjoyed the G.O.A.T. movie all-school field trip together, to celebrate a successful second Trimester.
