Highland View students have been exploring various classroom instruments in Music class. They are encouraged to follow the steady beat or explore making their own rhythms. As the school year continues they will use these skills to play other, more complicated instruments. They have fun putting songs, movement, and instruments together. Our little musicians will be pros before we know it! #LearnGrowEngageGreendale #CultivatingExcellence

Brush Box Craft and Convos night flier with details of event
The first graders at Highland View kicked off the school year with a social studies unit called "My School and Family." These lessons, along with their weekly Character Strong lessons, have helped students learn about each other and build classroom communities. They've been learning about showing kindness, respect, and how to work together as a team. Each student created a puzzle piece filled with pictures and words that highlight their unique interests and traits and they used them to show how they are all different but still fit together to make a class family.
