Child Development Days offer Greendale families a wonderful opportunity to learn more about their child's growth and development as they prepare for school.
Screenings include:
Speech and language development
Motor skills
Vision
Social development and school readiness
Families can also connect with school professionals, ask questions, receive helpful developmental resources, and take home a FREE gift for their child!

Our K5 through 2nd-grade students were treated to a fun, interactive assembly presented by Kohl’s Wild Theater! Through entertaining performance, catchy songs, and colorful puppets, the show "How Does Your Garden Grow?" taught our young learners all about how plants, animals, and habitats depend on one another. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to discover how local ecosystems work and how we can all care for the environment. A big thank you to Kohl's Wild Theater and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee for bringing such a lively lesson to our school!
The Greendale Fire Department brought Fire Prevention Month to life with an engaging and unforgettable performance for our students! Demonstrating critical fire safety lessons through action and humor, the department had everyone on the edge of their seats—especially when two of two of our very own teachers, Mrs. Novakovich and Mr. Hohensee (Mr. H.), volunteered to join the show. Huge thanks to the Greendale Fire Department for keeping our community safe and making learning about fire safety so much fun!
Huge congratulations to our incredible school community! Thanks to your amazing turnout and school spirit on Sunday, October 18, we officially took 1st Place for Most Participation in the district-wide Step Up to Better Health Walk/Run/Roll! Whether you walked, ran, rolled, or cheered from the sidelines, every single one of you helped us claim the trophy among all the schools in our district. Thank you to all the students, families, teachers, and staff who showed up to support healthy habits and represent our school so well. We are so proud of this team effort!
The 21-time consecutive WSMA State Champion GHS Marching Band performed its annual stadium show for GMS Band students and the elementary school students this week. Students enjoyed a special walking trip to GHS for a performance by the acclaimed band and were thrilled by the band's creative set, which highlighted the incredible talent across our district.
We are excited to share that our 5th-grade students have officially partnered with our kindergarten classes as School Buddies! Throughout the year, our oldest elementary students will meet regularly with their kindergarten buddies to mentor them, assist with creative classroom projects, practice reading together, and lend a helping hand. This special partnership gives our kindergarteners a friendly face to look up to in the hallways, while allowing our 5th graders to step into meaningful leadership roles.
Attend a Halloween Spooktacular Event at Selzer-Ornst in Greendale
This FREE family event is set for Thursday, October 22, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., in the parking lot at Selzer-Ornst, 5400 So. 60th Street. With Halloween activities including hayrides, face painting, crafts, bounce house and more! Food will be available for purchase. Come celebrate fall with family and friends. Fourth graders at CP made salt-dough castles to wrap up the first half of their unit on the Middle Ages. Students mixed the dough, constructed their castle with a partner and labeled key vocabulary terms in this hands-on experience.

The big Run/Walk is coming up this Sunday, October 18 and the competition between the schools is incredibly tight!
Right now, College Park has 299 student participants signed up, and the next closest school is right behind us with 275 participants. We are currently holding onto the lead, but we need a final push to secure our top spot! We also need to reach 300 if I am going to wear a costume during the walk!

College Park's Fall Festival Tonight!
Join us tonight starting at 6:00 pm for an evening of autumn fun, crisp weather, and great company. We've got dancing, a photo booth, face painting, crafts, a Dia De Los Muertos activity and more! There's something for all ages. Whether you're stopping by for a bit or staying for the whole event, we can't wait to see you there! Let's celebrate the season together!
When fourth grade students finished Unit 1 of their ELA curriculum on personal narratives, they celebrated by interviewing each other as 'authors' of their narratives, and shared their writing with their peers.

Join us for an evening of autumn fun at our annual CP PTO Fall Festival this Friday, October 9 from 6pm to 7:30pm. Bring the whole family out for fun activities, tasty treats, music, and great community spirit. It’s the perfect way to kick off the fall season together, so mark your calendars and don't miss out!
Second grade wrapped up their first Knowledge Unit with a magical, larger-than-life celebration. Their first unit focused on fairy tales and tall tales. Some students chose to come dressed up as one of their favorite characters from the unit, including Beauty, Paul Bunyan, and Pecos Bill. They celebrated by enjoying miniature pancakes (instead of colossal-sized ones), building railroads like John Henry and riding trains like Casey Jones, making dresses for our princesses, and more.

Our school theme this year is "Capture the Moment!". To celebrate our school theme, our College Park PTO is purchasing every student and staff member a t-shirt to be worn every Monday. We are asking our parents/guardians to indicate what size their student(s) will need. Please take a moment to indicate the size needed for each of your student(s). Second graders teamed up after learning about Fred, a friendly worm who took his boat out one day. However, Fred wasn't very safe because he forgot to wear his life preserver. Unfortunately for Fred, a strong wind caused his boat to capsize. With his boat upside down, Fred was stranded on top, and his life preserver was underneath. Students worked together to complete three tasks, including turning Fred's boat right side up, getting Fred back into his boat, and putting Fred's life preserver on while following three golden rules. It was an activity filled with lots of cooperation and respect, as they worked to listen to each other's ideas and save Fred.
