GMS students are taking on the role of Student Librarian by creating library displays for students to receive recommendations on their favorite books. This Panther created the first Student Librarian Display. She came up with the concept, designed the sign and chose which books to include. This project is a great way to promote literacy, student leadership, and peer-to-peer relationships. #PantherPride #LearnGrowEngageGreendale #CultivatingExcellence

Senior Night at the Theatre 2026 was a huge success. More than 200 older adults from the community came to GHS for dinner and a special showing of the GHS Spring Musical Chicago on Thursday evening, March 19. The fabulous team from GSD Food service prepared an outstanding spaghetti dinner for our senior guests. A team of over 30 dedicated and gracious student and adult volunteers set up, served, and cleaned up the event. It was a wonderful evening that showcased the many talented and kind students and staff of Greendale Schools! Many thanks to the Greendale Education Foundation for sponsoring the event.

The cast and crew of the high school's theatre production, Chicago, welcomed a notable GHS alumna just in time for the opening of the show this week. Hollywood actress Jane Kaczmarek (GHS '74) visited the school. Kaczmarek told the students about her path to success as a television star (Malcolm in the Middle, St. Elsewhere, Hill Street Blues) and her experiences as a Greendale student. Her humor and kindness were enjoyed by students and staff alike. Media partners from CBS58 were on hand for an interview, which will appear on the station's news next week. Tickets and information on Chicago are available on the GHS Theatre website here.

March is designated as Youth Art Month and our Greendale Schools' student artists are showcasing the creativity, talent, and hard work that comes with creating works of art. The Greendale Public Library has a selected display of artwork from all of the Greendale schools. These works will be at the library through the month of March only. Please visit the art show and share this experience with your family.

The Community Connections Black History Month Celebration was a great success! Students and families from all our Greendale schools joined together at Highland View. A group of students attended the Northwestern Mutual/Milliman Actuary Science Seminar at the NM Headquarters in Downtown Milwaukee last week. The students learned about education necessary to become an actuary and received information on internships available for this career path. They spent time finding out about the typical "Day in the Life" of an Actuary, the Actuary Exams, and the Actuarial Career Path. They also explored a case study example and finished the day with a Q&A from two top executives from NM and Milliman. #LearnGrowEngageGreendale
